There is a story about the chinese new year flower. First of all, it can be traced back to the Qing Dynasty. The residents of Guangzhou often used chinese new year flowers as their annual flowers. In fact, chinese new year flowers are really beautiful, but why are they so beautiful that Hong Kong has never seen them sold? It turned out that as early as a hundred years ago, the chinese new year tree was felled very seriously. The British Hong Kong government enacted a law in 1913 to prohibit the possession and sale of chinese new year flower. This law was later incorporated into the Forestry Regulations in 1937 to prevent illegal picking of wild chinese new year tree. In the 1960s, the public felt that the flower name was unlucky, and gradually replaced it with peach blossoms as the new year flowers. Since then, wild chinese new year flower have been preserved in the countryside.
