Fire Lookout

The peak season for hill fires is from September to April of the following year. The Agriculture and Fisheries Department has set up hill fire observation platforms on many hills in Hong Kong to detect hill fires. The most familiar ones are Miu Ko Toi and Lo Yan Shan. There are a total of 12 fire lookouts in Hong Kong, 11 of which are still in operation, and only one of the nine hills in Tuen Mun has been abandoned.
