Wutong Mountain is 943.7 meters high. It is located in the south of Shenzhen, facing Mirs Bay. The mountain range spans the Lo Wu area and the Yantian area and is also close to the Robin's Nest and other mountains in the New Territories. Wutong Mountain is the highest peak in Shenzhen, also known as The First Peak in Shenzhen. Main Peak is Great WuTong; Vice Peak is Small WuTong, with an altitude of 692 meters and a location near the Shenzhen TV Tower. Between the Great WuTong and Small WuTong, there is a mountain called Tofu Hill, which is 706 meters high. Climb to Wutong Mountain, there are official mountain trails in the east, south, north and west, there are many ways to uphill. The eastern trailhead is Yantian, near Metro Shenwai High School Station, and the trail is called Xiutong Trail; the southern trailhead is Sha Tau Kok, near Haishan Station, called Bitong Trail; the western trailhead is next to the Fairy Lake Botanical Garden, near the Liantang Station, it is called the DengYan Trail; there is also a trail in the southwest, near the Wutong Mountain South Station, called the LingYun Trail; This time the route is going uphill from the south and downhill to the west. The whole journey is about 11 kilometres. It is about 4.3 kilometres to climb Great WuTong, about 3.5 kilometres to go from Great WuTong to Small WuTong, and 3.3 kilometres to go down the mountain. It seems that the distance is not too long, but whether you are ascending or descending, you have to go through some long and endless steps. The steps are longer than the longest ones in Hong Kong, and you must have sufficient endurance. It is a national park along the way, and there are guardrails in dangerous places. There are many climbers in peak season, so you don't have to worry about safety issues. It is definitely safer than walking on the Four Big Trails in Hong Kong.
